Buchwald Hires Sean Zeid As VP Unscripted Talent & Content, Peter Jarvis As Literary Agent

EXCLUSIVE: Buchwald is looking to bolster its presence across unscripted content and literary representation with two hires in the agency’s Los Angeles office. Sean Zeid has joined as Vice President of Unscripted Talent and Content, with Peter Jarvis coming aboard as a Literary Agent.

Zeid comes to the unscripted unit a couple of months following Julie Choi’s promotion to Head of Unscripted Talent and Content, after two years at the agency. Accompanying that announcement in October was news that Buchwald had promoted promoted Shawn Scallon and Sheri Talkovsky to Co-Vice Presidents of Talent in New York.

Previously at APA through its transition into Independent Artist Group, Zeid prior to that worked at Paradigm for nearly six years, proving instrumental in expanding that agency’s unscripted television department. Before that, he led the reality division at Kaplan Stahler Agency for seven years, where he cultivated a strong foundation in unscripted content. He began his agency career at Endeavor, gaining early experience that shaped his expertise in talent representation.

Zeid’s client list includes executive producer Kris Lindquist (Selling Sunset, Selling the City), executive producer and showrunner Andrea Richter (Ink Master), executive producer and showrunner Leslie Garvin (Surf Girls), award-winning documentary filmmaker Melissa Haizlip (Mr. Soul!), executive producer and showrunner John Brimhall (The UnBelievable with Dan Akroyd), and co-executive producer Jimmy Quigley (Survivor).

“We are beyond thrilled to have Sean join us at Buchwald,” said Choi in a statement to Deadline. “Sean’s exceptional experience, his ability to identify and nurture talent, his creative approach to packaging and strategic business insights, is a perfect fit with our client first approach and collaborative culture here at Buchwald.”

Previously at Kaplan Stahler, and with over a decade of experience in literary representation, Jarvis began his career in the talent department at ICM Partners before transitioning to the lit department at Entertainment 360, followed by six years as an agent at KSA. His roster includes Allan Hawco, co-creator, showrunner and star of CBC’s new police drama Saint Pierre; writer and executive producer Tyrone Finch (Average Joe); WGA Award-nominated writer and executive producer Mark Hudis (True Blood, First Kill); best-selling novelist and WGA Award-nominated screenwriter John Burnham Schwartz (The Wizard of Lies, Reservation Road); writer, producer and actor Marcy Jarreau (Kevin, Brooklyn Nine-Nine); writer and executive producer Nick Thiel (White Collar); writer and co-executive producer Luke Kalteux (Krypton, Daredevil); writer-producer Devin Conroy (Servant); writer-producer Jaydi Samuels Kuba (Good Times); writer-actor John Timothy (Ghosts, Leverage: Redemption), and Black List screenwriter Kevin Lefler (The Isolate Thief), among others.

Stated Rob Kim, Head of Literary and Co-Head, West Coast at Buchwald, “Peter’s impressive track record makes him a fantastic addition to our literary team. We are confident that his expertise will further our mission to support exceptional writers and creators in sharing their unique voices with the world.”
